The world celebrates in 2016 the centennial of the greatest intellectual and literary movement of the last century, a revolutionary artistic movement that eventually became the forerunner of digital art itself.<\/p>\n
In February 1916, in reaction to the bleakness of World War I, poet Hugo Ball and his female companion inaugurated the Cabaret Voltaire in old Zurich. Soon they were joined by a handful of madmen and visionaries. Their euphoria gave birth to the day of all possibilities: a cultural and counter revolutionary phenomenon which was named Dada.<\/p>\n
From the outset, the baffling Dada movement, swollen with enthusiasm and absurdity, blew through the arts like a fresh breeze. It rallied poetry, theatre, dance and visual arts. Dada is cosmopolitan, it spreads from Zurich to Paris, to New York and elsewhere. The Dadaists free themselves from conventions, and following Picasso and Braque, reinvent, among other things, pictorial composition.<\/p>\n
The principle of chance and the granting of a new meaning to found objects guides their new approach to art. The ready-made — manufactured commercial objects exhibited in a museum context — and collage and photomontage have arrived.<\/p>\n
Voix Visuelle invites artists participating in its 11th international digital art miniprint<\/em> exhibition to work in the spirit of Dada<\/em>, to soak up this rich and crazy moment in the history of modern art, to become familiar with this period of eccentricities. To visit the elegant and outlandish shapes and forms of Dada sculpture, dance and theatre costumes. To read or hear a few stanzas of its cacophonous sound poetry and take inspiration from Dadaists’ games and freedom.<\/p>\n\nAnd remember that times are wonderful.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to fr.wikipedia, the designation \u201cestampe num\u00e9rique\u201d (digital print) refers to works where the computer is the principal design tool, used to create a matrix of digital data. An digital printer, generally ink jet, is then used to print the matrix on various media.<\/p>\nWhich printing media are accepted by the International Digital Art Miniprint Exhibition?<\/strong>
\nOnly paper printing media is accepted. The weight of the paper must be between 200 and 500 g\/m2.<\/p>\nCan the paper media of an original digital print be modified (by collage, folding, cutting, etc.) once the print has been made?<\/strong>
\nNo. All modifications must be made by computer on the matrix before printing.<\/p>\nWhat formats are accepted by International Digital Art Miniprint Exhibition?<\/strong>Paper must measure 20 by 25 cm or 25 by 20 cm (8 x 10 or 10 x 8 inches). The image printed on the sheet can be of any size.<\/p>\nCan the print be mounted on rigid panels?<\/strong>

\nPrints are insured for a limited amount during the time they are in the hands of the organizers. The organizers are not responsible for the prints during shipping, incoming or outgoing.
